My fish room
I've kept fish for over 10 years, and right now I look after 18 freshwater tanks. Here's a look at some of them, and the fish, shrimp and snails that live in them.

How I run my tanks
- Live plants almost everywhere. All my tanks are planted except two: the shell dweller tank and the goldfish tank.
- Simple filters. Mostly Fluval filters and sponge filters, which are gentle on fry and shrimp.
- One high-tech tank. One tank runs CO2 for faster plant growth. The rest are low tech.
The planted community tank
Angelfish, rainbowfish, barbs and more, with an African dwarf frog hiding in the plants.

Jewel cichlids
Bright red cichlids with blue spots, in a tank of tall plants and driftwood. I've bred them in this tank. See how to breed jewel cichlids.

Fancy goldfish
Goldfish need cooler water and far more filtration than tropical fish, so they get a tank of their own. See goldfish care.

Plecos
I've bred super red bristlenose plecos, and my L239 blue panaque has been with me for about 3 years. See how to breed bristlenose plecos.

Shrimp, snails and more
Shrimp and snails clean up after the fish and breed on their own in a mature, planted tank. See how to breed cherry shrimp.

What I've bred
Over the years I've bred guppies, swordtails, cherry shrimp, mystery snails, super red bristlenose plecos, Venezuelan corydoras, Norman's lampeyes, shell dwellers and jewel cichlids. Each one has a guide in breeding aquarium fish.
